Two years back I made the switch to natural deodorants. I’d faced issues with infected glands as a teenager. Of course, I didn’t have access to many natural products in those days therefore made do with Dove. However, over the past few years I came across many brands that made natural deos and decided to give it a try. Here are the three I’ve used so far and my feedback on the same:
Natio is an Australian brand. I’ve used their products in the past and I was thrilled to try their aluminium free deodorant. It comes in a slim bottle and the solution has extracts of lavender, rosemary and clary sage. I am honestly not fond of these scents on their own as I find them quite strong, therefore I was a bit leery of applying a mix of it on my armpits. Luckily, the scent created by Natio was fresh and delicious. It turned out to be a great deo too. Plus it lasted a very long time. I’d buy this again. Right now I’m taking a break from the everlasting bottle to try other deos.
A colleague of mine introduced me to this Coimbatore-based natural beauty care brand. The formulations are 100% natural and organic, therefore I was excited to try their dusting powders instead of a deo. The product consists of essential oils mixed with a foundation base of tapioca root powder, kaolin clay and arrowroot powder. It’s a bit gritty and has an off-white color. Though I can attest to the potency of this product, I didn’t really enjoy the feel of it. Therefore I use it in lieu of dry shampoo and it’s very effective.
I stumbled across this product while browsing through Instagram feeds. I guess after experimenting with the previous two products, I was ready to try a cream deodorant. And the lemon and mint combo sounded tempting. According to the company,”The formula is made by taking extra rich cream base, adding zinc and silver extracts embedded in kaolin clay and mixing them with essential oils of lemon, cypress and Japanese mint. Clay absorbs dirt and silver ions rips off the outer membrane of microbes giving freshness for long hours.” The product came in a cute cylinder with a complementary single serving of mint green tea. I’m currently using this product and it’s great. The cream gets absorbed quite easily and does its job well too.
If you guys are thinking of switching to natural deos, then definitely give these a try. You can get them all on Nykaa.
